So Melanie shows up and Andrew lightly dismisses her claiming he’s busy and she and her friends leave angry/slightly miffed. Rose and Andrew talk a little bit and Andrew says that they only need maybe 4 vials. And Rose deducts not a lot of people are participating in this. She also tells him she has a journal she keeps of spells, jinxes, hexes, ect, and that she has the Polyjuice Potion recipe. Andrew debates whether to tell her, but he doesn’t. They talk about the potion and decide to get started on the potion after dinner, but Andrew has to get the lacewing flies first. In the hours between when they last met to after dinner, Rose deducted:
She went over everything she observed. Andrew was doing something big, he even admitted it. He wouldn’t do something like this for kicks. The Minster died just yesterday, and that in itself was big. These things correlated, Rose conceded earlier, but there was more and she needed to figure it out. “So, listen, I know I said I wouldn’t ask, but you’re really not going to tell me anything?”
And he says, “Perhaps………”
And then she makes a comment:
“So, I assume that the person you’re working with has got you under a leash.” Rose replied offhanded. “He must be pretty big to get you to listen to him.”
Then Andrew says:
“She and I just don’t think it’s necessary to trouble more people.”
BUT THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT ROSE WANTED:
Rose turned her head away from Andrew to chuckle quietly. He’d just reveal that he was working with a girl, just as she had predicted. Whatever Andrew was doing, it wasn’t his secret. It was someone else’s. And this whole secret, which would involve something dangerous given the circumstances, would have had to have been a Gryffindor’s secret. And since Andrew was the one making the potion, Rose deducted that it was either a boy who was bad at potions or a girl who didn’t want the hassle of making it. “Of course, Andrew. Of course.” Rose would find out everything before Andrew even realized it.
Then when Andrew goes to his room to get the stuff, Rose waits in the common room and this happens:
“Hey Rosie!” Rose closed her eyes in frustration “Hello Morgan.” She said, turning to the boy. “I thought I told you I didn’t like being called ‘Rosie.’”
“Yeah, and I told you I didn’t like being called ‘Morgan.’ Call me Dave.” He smiled at her. “So, what’re you doing?”
“I’m busy.” She stated. What in the hell was taking Andrew so long? Why did he have to leave her here with this annoying twat?
“Oh, well I was wondering if later, yo—” She cut him short. “Oh, look, Andrew’s back. I better be off. Bye.” Andrew hadn’t even reached the bottom of the stairs yet, when Rose grabbed his wrist and pulled him out. Dave watched helplessly as Rose rushed them away.
Then they get to the R.O.R. and Rose stews the flies (which have to be stewed for 21 days. And she tells Andrew to write this down, to which he does so on the paper titled “COUGH DROP.” And Rose sees it.
THEN THIS HAPPENS:
As Rose stirred the flies, she took a glimpse of the paper Andrew was writing on. ‘Cough Drop’ was written larger and at the top of the other words. Something that odd was a code name for something someone didn’t want to find out. And right there, Rose knew it was Lia Villace who was the stupid Gryffindor girl to come up with the plan. It was the summer before 3rd year and Lia came over to hang out for a week and Rose remembered how she carried a bag of cough drops just because she liked the taste.
Rose frowned. The idiot was going to kill everyone with her stupid plan. “Andrew Bradley! You tell me right now that this isn’t one of Lia Villace’s stupid ideas!”
(I’m also making it that Lia and Rose were friends, but then they stopped being friends during her 3rd year, when Lia meet Remy and they got into a fight because Rose kept telling Lia she shouldn’t go for it).
Then Andrew denies this, but Rose ignores him and tells him that she knows that this has something to do with the Minster’s assassination. And he confesses it all to her. Then she’s just like:
Rose nodded and listened as Andrew explained everything to her. “I hope you guys realize what you are doing is stupid and dangerous. It’s really not your place to figure what’s going on out.”
—-
“Well, it’s not like you should have a plan.” Rose said exasperated. “We’re students. We should just be doing what we’re given. Let the aurors handle the problem. My dad said that they’re on it and there’s nothing to worry about.”
—-
“Yes, I’m almost certain it was more than an assassination, but that doesn’t mean it’s our responsibility to find out why those people did it and how to stop them. Our responsibilities is to our school work. I’ve talked to all the aurors before. Every one of them is capable of doing their job.” Rose argued. All she wanted was for her friends to not get unnecessarily involved.
But then she gives up arguing like:
“No!” Rose shouted. “You’re being ridiculous, Andrew. I’m not going to let you do something stupid because if you or Lia or James dies for this and I didn’t stop you, do you know how that’d make me feel?” Rose paced the room and put her hand on her forehead. “You’re going to do this whether I say so or not.” She said calmer. Rose stopped walking. “You guys might as well have someone competent helping you.” She sighed.
Then he’s says:
“Everything we do… Is fueled by motivation, Rose……(ect)…………We don’t do stupid things… just because we’re stupid.”
And Rose is like:
“Stupid. Noun. To be senseless. Yup, pretty stupid.” Rose conceded. “So, really, all you’ve got right now is that you want to possible invade the ministry to get information?”
And he’s like yes. And Rose admits that:
Rose didn’t meet his eyes. She felt uneasy. “They caught the assassin.” Rose told him. “Yesterday, after I read the paper, I owled my dad. He owled me back very quickly. I told him how ‘scared’ and ‘worried’ I was.” Rose explained. She didn’t like manipulating her father, but some things had to happen to attain the information she needed. “He comforted me in his words. He discreetly hinted that the assassin was caught.”
“Right after they caught him, he killed himself. But, as they looked into it more, it turns out he was being imperialized. The ministry didn’t let out this information because they didn’t want the public to panic.”
Then they’re talking about who the next minister will be and Rose says:
“But, it’s in talks that Orphus Fiddplum will. He’s been loyal to the Wizarding government for years. That’s really..That’s really all I know.”
(TO WHICH I BELIEVE, HE SHOULD BE ON THE SIDE OF THEODORE’S! also, since theodore’s just doing this because he’s bored, what is he manipulating his follower’s with? like, what do they think the goal is?)
Then Andrew talks about his dead father and how he was murdered and Rose listens sympathetically like a therapist:
“You can talk about it.” Rose awkwardly reached over and placed a hand on his arm. In a psychology book she’d read, it said that physical contact would make the recipient feel more at ease. After an odd pause, she asked, “Is that weird?”
And Andrew and her get emotional and Rose says:
“Don’t worry, Andrew. You still have me, James, your mum. We’re not going anywhere, or at least, I’m not.”
THEN FUCKING ANDREW IS LIKE:
“Anyway, so it was a lonely Christmas, but when I got back to Hogwarts, I got a lot of pity sex, so I guess that kind of balanced everything out.”
In response:
Rose made a strangled sob. “Well, James has been bugging everyone about how you get all the girls. At least now I can tell him all he has to do is kill his dad and play the pity card.”
Then they leave and since Andrew confessed something, Rose confessed that she tricked her parents into thinking she was dumb because she was tired of being expected to live up to them (hermione, mostly). Lika she can’t live up to ‘the brightest witch of her age.’
And Andrew’s like:
“The difference between you and your mum is adventure.” He grinned. “Which you are seriously lacking, by the way,” he said seriously. “But I mean wherever would you be able to find adventure? Oh wait… What was that?” He pretended to listen to an imaginary voice. “There’s this stupid thing called Operation Cough Drop that exists?”
Then Rose is like:
“I’m already apart of it, aren’t I?” Rose grumbled, looking away, embarrassed. He was telling the truth and she hated being wrong.
Then they get lost, but ask a portrait for help and then they run into Andrew’s girlfriend and that doesn’t go well. Then it seems implied that Andrew and Rose are a thing (even though they’re not). Then Andrew admits he was only with her for a bet and Rose gets disappointed in him, but then he’s explains that he only bet that he could MAINTAIN the relationship (as it was already falling apart). Although in the beginning he actually truly did like her. Blah blah. Rose feels bad for accusing him and apologizes and he’s like:
“Lots of people probably thought the same thing you did, and I honestly couldn’t care less. I just don’t like disappointing you.” He smiled—genuinely this time—before he walked to his room.
NOW LIA AND ANDREW START RP-ING.
Ravenclaw practice just ended and Andrew just sits on the stands, wallowing in sadness. Lia shows up because:
Lia ran to the Quidditch stands, her hair fizzy and still in her pajamas. She’d slept in and was late for the Ravenclaw Quidditch practice. Merlin damn it, she was suppose to be taking notes on them!
But then Andrew doesn’t react to her and she’s jsut trying to make him talk and shit so, T.W. : She kisses, then slaps him. Which causes him to react and he finally does tell her what’s wrong. Then he tells her that he’s upset cause he talked about his dad for the first time in years and cause he and Melanie broke up. Lia avoids the break-up topic because it brings up thoughts of Remi and then asks who he told, which he answers: Rose Weasley. And then this convo happens:
Lia looked at him with widened eyes. “Whatcha gon’ and do that for?” She choked. “When were you and her friends?” Lia demanded.
“I don’t know. We’ve always been friends, but we were talking last night and it just came up and…” He paused. “Why does this even matter?” For the first time in their conversation, Andrew managed to look at Lia.
“It doesn’t.” Lia huffed looking away. “So, what happen with you and Melon?” She asked, changing the subject to the one she wanted to stray away from.
Lia would rather talk about his break-up than the rift between her and Rose because it would eventually lead to Remy.
Andrew did his best not to explode. “We broke up, okay? Things got shitty and we ended it. That’s it,” he said through clenched teeth. “Any other questions?”
“Breaking up is inevitable!” Lia replied to his rude behavior. “You should’ve known it wouldn’t last! You don’t have to get mad at me for it!”
“Well then what do you suggest I do? Sit here and take it? Pretend it didn’t happen? I’m not made of stone, Lia!” he replied heatedly. “Am I not allowed to be sad and pissed off that I ruined another good thing in my life?” Andrew leaned back, his arms supporting his weight. He took a deep breath. “Sorry. You didn’t do anything. But I’m fucking pissed and angry and sad and confused. I’m feeling all these stupid emotions that I don’t want nor need.” He wiped sweat from his face and stood up. “I’m just being stupid, whatever.”
“Honestly, Bradley. Who even gives a fuck about relationships?” Lia stood up, copying him, to shout back. “Love doesn’t exist! All the things you’re feeling is unnecessary. You’re stressing over nothing. I was like you once— when I actually gave a shit. Worse time of my life. I was pathetic. Bradley, you don’t need to be pathetic.”
Then they continue to argue and Lia’s like:
“Why do you think it matters to me?” Lia yelled back. “Because I like to consider us kinda sorta friends and I kinda sorta care about your well-being! Godric! Maybe I shouldn’t because I don’t know how to deal with you!” She cursed. “GODRIC FUCKING GRYFFINDOR, I’M SOUNDING LIKE MY MUM. I don’t know what the fuck you want me to do about all the shit you’re feeling! Do you want like a fucking hug or something?” She asked him sarcastically.
Then he asks to drop the topic and Lia does because she’s fed up. And she questions how the potion’s going and he tells her about Rose is helping him make it, then Lia says:
“Rose. Weasley. YOU TOLD ROSE WEASLEY?” Lia yanked at her hair. “UGH! No, no. It’s not your fault. She probably used her freak powers to tell what was going on. I bet she called me stupid, didn’t she?” Lia pulled at his robes, “DIDN’T SHE?” She pushed him back and continued to pace. “Well…UGH..” Lia cried out frustrated and picked up a stone nearby, launching it as far as she could. It hit one of the pillars and tore through the Slytherin stands. “What did you two talk about? What does she know?” Lia asked him, menacingly.
The Andrew escapes to go shower. And Lia leaves fuming.
NOW ROSE AND ANDREW RP.
Melanie’s friends take it into their own hands and trap Rose upsidedown in a closet, to which she is saved by Andrew, and then they jsut go chill in the Ravenclaw common room.
AND THAT’S WHAT YOU MISSED ON THE RP.
